Meet Jesus

This page is for those searching for God, His love, fellowship or connection. I will share some truths that will guide you to have a closer fellowship with our maker, through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1. God Loves us and cares for our destiny!
This is why God sent Jesus, His only Son so that he can redeem us from sin, self destruction and spiritual weakness. He loves us even when we continue to ignore Him and live a sinful and selfish life. Even in our worst state, God loves us and seeks us daily through inner still soft voice that draws us to seek after Him. Even to those who try to do good [are good], Jesus loves us and looks forward to establishing a relationship with Him.
2. We have all acted in a way that does not please God. In-fact our creation story include a fall from God. This is called Sin, the problem of Sin in human race.
Man is in rebellion to the will of God. We choose not to take the way of righteousness that God clearly spells out in His word and in our consciousness. We have sinned are separated from the will of God. Separation from the presence and fellowship with God is spiritual death. The Bible clearly states that the wages of sin is death, which is eternal separation from God’s love and fellowship, yet man is by nature created to worship God, and enjoy his presence and fellowship. This creates a vacuum in us and we keep trying many different things that can only satisfy us for a session.
3. God has a set way to be in fellowship with us.
Jesus is the way God has provided for us to be in union with Him. Jesus was sent to redeem us. He lived a sinless live and had perfect fellowship with God the Father. Jesus died on the cross on our behalf because with the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. So God’s plan to redeem mankind is complete and the grace of Gods that brings salvation has been revealed. Those who accept this grace are reconciled to God and therefore have fellowship with God just like Jesus did.
This offer of grace is universal, all inclusive and open to every one. The problem is that you have to accept this offer, many wont!
4. What can we do with this offer?
God wants us to accept His son and our Lord Jesus in our hearts. We need to come to him by faith, confess our sins to Him and surrender our all being to Him. We have to accept the offer of God’s saving grace through our Lord Jesus Christ. This is a beginning of a closer walk with Him and the assurance of eternal life.
Are you ready to make this call? You need to loudly say a simple prayer “Dear Lord Jesus, i confess that i am a sinner and ask for forgiveness. I invite you into my heart to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I believe and confess that you are my Lord and saviour” Amen
If you have repeated this prayer, please post a message on Christian forums. You may PM me if you have more questions. We have also created a number of resourceful pages and blog articles that you will find useful.
May God bless you and keep you. Please read this page once more and if you have any questions, post or PM me through the prayer forum.

Christian Christian growth

  • “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:3-8

Christian growth indicators are:

  • increasing in your knowledge and understanding of God’s Word,
  • decreasing in your frequency and severity of sin,
  • increasing in your practice of Christ-like qualities, and
  • increasing in your faith and trust in God.

This can be summarized by the phrase “becoming more like Jesus Christ” because Jesus Christ is the ultimate example of what it truly means to be spiritual. Paul says, “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” Corinthians 11:1.

Christian growth: How can we grow?

Christian growth starts with acquiring a true spiritual life through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:11-12).

When you believe in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit lives inside of you (John 14:16-17) and you are a new creation in Christ!

  • “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Your old nature, which is dominated by sin, is replaced with a new nature that is under the influence of God’s Spirit (Romans 6-7). Christian growth can only occur in a person who knows the Lord Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Savior.

Learning how to grow spiritually is a life-long journey which occurs as you read and apply God’s Word to your life;

  • All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

In order for Christian growth to occur, we must be taught, rebuked, corrected, and trained by God’s Word. Then we will be thoroughly equipped for every good work. This is the essence of spiritual growth.

Another key to Christian growth is walking in the Spirit.

  • “So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law…Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.” Galatians 5:16-18, 24-26

Walking in the Spirit is allowing Him to fill you (Ephesians 5:18), control you, and guide you. This is brought about by consciously choosing by faith to rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you in thought, word, and deed (Romans 6:11-14). Failure to rely on the Holy Spirit’s guidance will result in a believer not living up to the calling and standing that salvation provides.

  • “…I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” Ephesians 4:1

Christian growth results

Christian growth is a life-long process of manifesting the acts of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21) less and less and producing the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) more and more. Notice that it is the Holy Spirit who produces the fruit in us. Yes, we must submit ourselves to the Spirit’s leading, but it is the Spirit who produces the fruit of Christian growth in our lives. What does Christian growth look like?

  • “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

If you are more loving, more joyful, kinder, more self-controlled, etc., this indicates that Christian growth is genuinely occurring in your life.

God works in different people in different ways. Some people grow rapidly, while others grow slowly, but steadily.

Each one of us should compare ourselves with God’s Word, which is a mirror to show us what we are like spiritually and to shine light on the areas that need to experience and learn spiritual growth.

  • “Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it - he will be blessed in what he does.” . James 1:23-25
